Obon is a traditional Japanese event related to Buddhism, where people welcome the spirits of their ancestors and deceased back to their homes and pray for their peace. Some light fires or hang lanterns to guide them home and back to the afterlife without losing their way.
お盆は日本の伝統的な行事です

ご先祖様が迷わず家に戻って来て、迷わず浄土に帰れるように、火を焚いたり、提灯を飾ったりします。
